Like many men across America I could not believe this was the movie my significant other picked to watch. But it happened. Luckily for me this movie was quite enjoyable. In fact based on the humor in it I would say it's more of a mans movie.
Here's the setup. Katherine Heigal (Knocked UP) plays her usual character a stuck up TV producer trying to save a local TV show from crashing a burning from its dullness. To save the burning ship the Network leaders bring in a sexist cable access show host to do a part on the show of course called "The Ugly Truth" played by the always great Gerald Butler (300, Gamer). The laughs begin as his section becomes a total success driving our female character crazy. As tensions continue they finally come to a compromise when she develops a crush on a handsome doctor across the street. Going down in flames she agrees to back off of Butler if he helps her into the arms of her male suitor. The plan goes flawlessly as he proves to her just how predictable men can be. Speaking of predictable the two of course begin to fall for each other. Worth your time if your in the mood to laugh.
I give it a 3 out of 5.
